This Privacy Policy covers the processing of personal data provided through FTI’s website www.fti-group.co.uk. It also outlines how FTI uses and protects personal data given to FTI by customers’ and suppliers’ representatives.
This policy clearly demonstrates FTI’s commitment to ensuring that your right to respect for your private life is protected. FTI complies with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 when processing personal data received from website visitors and from FTI’s customers and suppliers.

- Your first name and surname
- Country of origin
- The organisation you represent
- Your email address
- Your telephone number.
What FTI does with personal data it collects
FTI needs this information to respond to your enquiry by email or telephone.
FTI only holds personal data for as long as necessary. Once personal data is no longer needed, it is permanently deleted from FTI’s systems in compliance with legal requirements.

Links to other websites
FTI’s website may contain links to other websites. If you use these links, you should note that FTI has no control over other websites. As a result, FTI does not accept responsibility for the processing of any personal data which you provide whilst visiting such other websites.
How FTI uses cookies
FTI’s website uses cookies. A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that is put on your computer if you agree. These cookies allow FTI to distinguish you from other users of the website, which helps FTI provide you with a good experience when you browse the website and also allows FTI to improve the site.
The cookies FTI’s website uses are ‘analytical’ cookies. They allow FTI to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around the site when they are using it. This helps FTI improve the way the website works, for example by making sure users are finding what they need easily.
Once your personal data is no longer needed, it is permanently removed from the system.
A cookie does not allow FTI to access your computer or any information about you other than the data you choose to share with FTI.
Most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. However, this may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.
- Customer/Supplier Data
FTI only collects personal data related to existing or potential customers and suppliers provided directly to it. Personal data FTI holds may include:
- Your first name and surname
- Your job title (where applicable)
- The name and address of the organisation you represent
- Your work email address
- Your work telephone number
- Your signature (where applicable).
When FTI provides training, it may also hold trainees’ dates of birth and other personal data related to the provision of training.
FTI needs your contact details to process orders and manage customer/supplier accounts. Your personal data (contact details) is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, and/or to enter into or to perform a contract with the organisation you represent, and/or to protect FTI’s legitimate interests (e.g. for administration purposes, to establish or defend potential legal claims, seek repeat custom or expand FTI’s customer base). Furthermore, FTI may process your personal data on grounds of your consent, which must be freely given, informed, specific, and unambiguous.
Your personal data is only accessed by FTI staff members authorised to do so who have a genuine need to access it. Your personal data can also be accessed by FTI’s external IT services provider that has adopted adequate organisational and security measures to protect the confidentiality of your personal data.
If you agree, FTI shall email you updates on its products and services which may be of interest to the organisation you represent. You can stop receiving marketing information at any time.
FTI is committed to ensuring that your personal data is secure. FTI has physical, electronic and managerial procedures in place to safeguard and secure the information it collects online and offline.
FTI never sells, rents or exchanges mailing lists containing your personal data to/with third parties without your consent and generally only shares your personal data if it is required to do so by law (e.g. by a court order).
FTI only holds personal data for as long as necessary. Once personal data is no longer needed, it is permanently deleted from FTI’s systems in compliance with legal requirements.
Personal data may generally only be transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA) that guarantee an adequate level of protection. Personal data is generally transferred outside the EEA on condition that enforceable data subject rights and effective legal remedies for data subjects are available and on the basis of relevant safeguards.
As a data subject, you have a number of rights. You have the right to:
- receive information about what personal data about you FTI processes, how and on what legal basis;
- access and obtain a copy of your personal data on request;
- require FTI to change incorrect or incomplete personal data;
- require FTI to delete or stop processing your personal data, for example where the data is no longer necessary for the purposes of processing;
- object to the processing of your personal data where FTI is relying on its legitimate interests as the legal basis for processing;
- ask FTI to stop processing personal data for a period of time if personal data is inaccurate or there is a dispute about whether or not your interests override FTI’s legitimate grounds for processing personal data; and
- request a copy of your personal data and to have personal data transferred to another data controller where applicable. FTI shall not charge you for this and shall generally aim to do this within one month.
With some exceptions, you have the right not to be subjected to automated decision-making.
You have the right to be notified of a data breach.
If personal data processing is based on your consent, you have the right not to consent and/or to withdraw your consent at any time. You shall not suffer any detriment for doing so.
If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact Barbora Cowell (HR Manager) at BCowell@FTI-Group.co.uk.
If you believe that FTI has not complied with your data protection rights, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Full contact details, including a helpline number, can be found on the Information Commissioner’s Office website (www.ico.org.uk). The website has further information on rights and obligations.
What if you do not provide personal data?
If you do not provide your personal data, this may hinder FTI’s ability to efficiently administer the rights and obligations arising as a result of FTI’s existing or potential legal relationship with the organisation you represent.
Automated decision-making
Decisions are not based solely on automated decision-making.
